  • Setup: Begin by tapping with the fingers of one hand on the the Karate Chop point (the fleshy part of the other hand between the little finger and wrist) while saying this statement out aloud: "Even though I have this horrible feeling of dread about the flight, and my mind keeps running ‘what if’ scenarios, I deeply and completely accept myself.” (Repeat the statement aloud three times, and continue tapping.)

  • Sequence, and tapping round: Next proceed to tap gently with your fingers through the following tapping points (eyebrow, side of eye, under the eye, under nose, under chin, collarbone and top of the head) while acknowledging the pre-flight anxiety itself within you. Select one of these phrases that feels most appropriate to your current situation, and repeat it out aloud while tapping each of the points a couple of times. Such as: "All this dread and worry,” “All the ‘what ifs’ my mind keeps showing me,” “I’m releasing the need to focus on disaster,” and “I choose to feel calm and present right now.”

    Repeat as many tapping rounds (from eyebrow to top of head) of these short statements as necessary until you feel more relaxed and calm. You'll probably notice yourself yawning or sighing out aloud as your nervous system begins to regulate.

  • Sequence, and tapping round: Phrases such as: “This knot in my stomach,” “I am releasing the physical tension now,” and "I allow my body to feel relaxed and safe.”
